DWTN Now Earns Second Emmy Nomination, Announces Network Change to ABC 40/29 (KHBS/KHOG)

Bentonville, AR – For the second year in a row, DWTN Now has earned a regional Emmy nomination in the Magazine Program category, solidifying its place as one of the premier storytelling platforms in Arkansas.

DWTN Now shines a spotlight on the people, places, and stories that make Bentonville an extraordinary place to live, play, and work. Created in Bentonville and launched by Downtown Bentonville Incorporated (501c3), the program is hosted and produced by Dana Schlagenhaft and Aaron Nolan, with award winning filmmaker Kyle Yazzie as lead videographer and editor.

“DWTN Now has really grown over the last five years, and it all comes back to the power of authentic storytelling and our incredible community”, said DBI Executive Director and DWTN Now co-host Dana Schlagenhaft. “Aaron and I are just a couple of former journalists who happen to be downtown every day, sharing what we see and hear. No one knows this city better than the people who call it home, and we’re fortunate to shine a light on their stories.”

Adding to the excitement, DWTN Now has found a new network home. Beginning October 12th at 10:30 a.m., and continuing every Sunday at the same time, the program will air on 40/29 News (KHBS/KHOG), the local ABC affiliate.  The program will also air weekly on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. on Arkansas CW.  The two-year agreement ensures DWTN Now will continue its mission of celebrating and amplifying local voices across Northwest Arkansas.

“We’re excited to add DWTN Now to our program schedule on 40/29,” said  KHBS/KHOG-TV President and General Manager, Bruce Barkley. “The team at DWTN Now are excellent storytellers, and we’re happy to be a part of spreading the word, every week about Bentonville.”

40/29 will also be the new home of the Bentonville Christmas Parade Show airing Christmas morning.  The Arkansas CW will premier the show on Christmas Eve.

Beyond its new broadcast slot, DWTN Now is also keeping storytelling at the heart of the community. Each episode premieres first at Skylight Cinema in Downtown Bentonville, offering audiences an early, big-screen experience before the stories move to television.
