Bentonville Becomes Superhero City at First Friday

Bentonville, AR -  Downtown Bentonville is set to transform into Superhero City for September First Friday presented by Walmart! The free, family-friendly festival on September 5 will feature local heroes, superheroes, comic book heroes and more! Plus, a superhero “movie screening” area, superhero sightings and photo-ops throughout the event.

Downtown Bentonville Incorporated is proud to partner with Splenda in September. In partnership with its Java House brand, Splenda is bringing two REAL Indy Cars to Downtown Bentonville EXCLUSIVELY for First Friday. Splenda will also sample new teas in three delicious flavors that are now available at Walmart along with refreshing strawberry lemonade made with US grown Splenda Stevia. They will also have cold brew, hydration, and energy drinks from Java House!

Have you ever wanted to be a superhero yourself? Now is your chance! Participate in our “Superhero Training Academy” that features an obstacle course, a strength test, and more. When you’ve finished training, it’s time to catch the bad guys! Kids can search for “Wanted Villain” posters scattered around First Friday and if you capture all of the posters, you can win a prize.

Make plans to eat and shop downtown during First Friday! Enjoy a wide variety of local restaurants and unique shops throughout the day. And for quick bites, food trucks will be set up in the event footprint from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM for grab-and-go meals.

First Friday festivities continue at noon with free yoga on the square led by Wonder Woman and Yoga Story NWA! Booths will officially open at 3:00 PM (giveaways and samples begin at 5:00 PM).

Here’s the full First Friday stage schedule:

4:30 - 4:45 PM Perry Ryan Theater

5:00 - 6:00 PM Bad Habits

6:00 - 7:00 PM Uncrowned Kings

7:00 - 9:00 PM The Fabulous Freddie Mercury Tribute

August First Friday will be divided into two distinct zones: Venture Village, sponsored by Deep Roots Health Center, and Travelers Trail, sponsored by McLarty Daniel. Each zone will be packed with fun vendors and activity booths for you to explore. Tune into your sense of adventure and community, and get ready for a stellar time!

Please remember that roads directly around the Bentonville Square will be closed to accommodate the crowds. Use our interactive parking map at downtownbentonville.org/explore/parking to help navigate parking Downtown.

We also want to give a big THANK YOU to community partners: the City of Bentonville, Visit Bentonville, and the Walton Family Foundation.
