What to Expect: Kids Rule
The Kids are Alright!
Get ready for a day where kids take over Downtown Bentonville with Kids Rule, Downtown Bentonville's celebration of creativity, entrepreneurship, and family fun - an event for kids, by kids.
Bring the whole family and spend the afternoon shopping, playing, learning, and cheering on the next generation of young creators. The event will be held on Sunday, August 2 from 12-4 p.m. on the north side of the A Street Promenade in front of 21c Hotel and Lawrence Plaza.
Shop from 40+ Youth Entrepreneurs
Support young makers and entrepreneurs as they showcase and sell their handmade creations and unique products. You'll find an incredible variety of items, including:
- Handmade jewelry
- Slime
- Plushies
- 3D-printed toys
- Pickles and jams
- Holiday cards
- And so much more!
Need a sweet treat while you shop? Grab a refreshing snow cone or lemonade from one of our youth vendors.
Live Entertainment
Throughout the afternoon, enjoy performances and interactive entertainment on the event stage.
The Backyard Bugs - 12:30–2:30 PM
Learn about bugs, insects, and the environment through fun, educational music performed by this local favorite. We'll have chairs and blankets available, or you're welcome to bring your own lawn chair or blanket.
Perry Ryan Theater Group - 3:00 PM
Watch talented local students perform musical theater selections and learn more about how your family can get involved in the program.
Story Time with Once Upon a Time Bookstore - 3:30 PM
Gather for a special children's story time with Once Upon a Time Bookstore to wrap up the afternoon.

Connect with local organizations that make a difference for children through fun, hands-on activities designed for kids of all ages.
Highlights include:
- Once Upon a Time Mobile Book Bus featuring a curated selection of children's books.
- Scott Family Amazeum Marble Run Activity where kids can design, build, and test their own marble runs while exploring engineering and problem-solving through play.
- Boys & Girls Club of Benton County with button making, games, and youth-created artwork available for purchase.
- Interactive activities from Peekaboo Magazine, Bentonville Community Center, and Arbor Vitae.
